ABOUT THE ROLE

Mission

In this role as Digital Power Project Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution of Power/Energy Monitoring and Control System Projects as part of the Digital Power Team in the Data Centre, Utility, Grid & Renewables and Life Sciences segment.


Take direction from the Project Technical Lead. Deliver all technical aspects of complex solution (architecture, systems, ...) during execution phases: Integration, Testing, FAT, Installation, Commissioning. Develop expertise under coaching and assistance from the Project Technical lead and other team members. Assist management team in elaborating alternative solutions and resolving key technical issues. Work to schedules and instruction to ensure that the project objectives in scope, schedule and cost are met. Develop and support the relationship with the customer and third parties within project scope and execute the project in line with the contract. Capable of working with the team, independently and can use their own initiative to improve processes and delivery where possible.

Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

  • Understand the Customer expectations, technical specifications and the scope of works required to satisfy the specification.

  • Work closely with Project Manager/Project Technical Lead to facilitate successful project delivery and execution.

  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and requirements including developing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

  • Be capable of executing the scope of works under direction from the PM\TL required to satisfy the specification.

  • Execute the project, following progress in line with Project plan (scope, schedule and budget) till completion.

  • Identify and communicate potential risks and opportunities. Support the management team in developing solutions for risks and opportunities.

  • Act as front face of Schneider Electric to the customer, interacting professionally with the customer (correspondences, emails, calls, meetings, ...).

  • When required, liaise with partners & suppliers executing the project in full compliance with Schneider-Electric processes, health, safety & quality instructions and governance principles.

  • Post Project contribute in review and Lessons Learned session with stakeholders to share feedback and improve the projects execution process

  • Attend training as required to meet roles requirements.

Qualifications

About you:

  • A focus in Electrical/Electronic Control Systems with a solid understanding Building Management and/or Electrical Control / Monitoring Systems.

  • A team work mentality with self-motivation, initiative, flexibility and good time management skills who is prepared to work to strict deadlines.

  • Engineering education in Electrical Engineering or Control disciplines - minimum degree (level 7) or equivalent in related engineering discipline.

  • Good communication skills, essential for both internal and external contacts.

  • Knowledge or experience of PLC, SCADA, and/or Building Management Systems from a design, programming or installation perspective would be preferred.

  • Being able to read MV / LV Electrical Distribution SLD (Single Line Diagram) to determine the basic requirements.

  • A customer focus with experience of the Schneider product offerings.

  • Knowledge and/or experience of Project and program management.

  • Computer literacy with good knowledge of Office programs (email / word/ excel/ PowerPoint).

  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  • Hold a valid EU/Irish Driver’s License
