Essential Experience: 6+ years’ general experience in Electrical Engineering, which includes a minimum of 4 years in delivering Earthing designs.

Job Description: Senior Earthing Specialist/ Full-Time Permanent
About the Role– Senior Earthing Specialist
The Senior Earthing Specialist will be responsible for undertaking site earthing design desktop studies and measurements ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
Reporting to an Associate, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet the budget and contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan. As part of your role, you will be responsible for conducting a risk analysis of the plan and identifying potential threats and risks. Using your expertise in Electrical Earthing you will make recommendations on potential mitigation for any issues identified, or work with stakeholders to agree on actions.
Candidate Attributes
Working knowledge of earthing system measurements
Earthing system analysis using the industry analysis software package CDEGS
Suitable experience in earthing issues and standards associated with power networks up to 220 kV
Ability to communicate complex technical or commercial issues to peers or senior managers
Ability to develop working relationships quickly and effectively
Experience in writing clear and concise documentation
Demonstrated experience in authoring high-quality engineering reports
Experience in Soil resistivity & current injection testing
Flexibility to travel
Role Requirements
Earthing system design and analysis using the CDEGS software suite
Earthing system measurements
Lightning protection system design
Interference studies and mitigation
Project management of multiple earthing design projects to ensure they remain within budget and timescales constraints
Assistance in the creation of competitive proposals/quotations for new packages of work
Key Knowledge
Substations and feeder earthing
Stray current mitigation, AC interference studies, Step & Touch Voltage simulations.
Lightning protection design
Preferential but not essential: EMF studies
