ABOUT THE ROLE

The Critical Environment Technician will report to the Mechanical Supervisor and will primarily work alongside the mechanical team. They will assist the mechanical team in repair and maintenance of all HVAC systems on site and support other activities throughout the campus.

Key Responsibilities

·  Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and basic repairs/filter changes to building, mechanical systems under the approval and supervision of the mechanical team.

·  Work closely with the shift team to always maintain clear and courteous two-way radio communication. Ensure mechanical equipment is operated in a controlled and approved fashion.

·  Perform LOTO duties on any/all Mechanical equipment being worked on but only as approved and instructed by supervisors.

·  Drive and operate general and specialist company lifting equipment mainly consisting of scissors operated MEWP’s and motorised pallet trucks. (Training will be given if required)

·  Work closely with the mechanical team to ensure maximum energy efficiency by inspecting, maintaining, and completing repairs on associated mechanical equipment.

·  Adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the CE domain

·  Perform various types of general building maintenance and repairs where applicable and fall under CBRE’s remit.

·  Work with the planning & mechanical team to follow up and close out all issues raised by the site team through daily shift reports and CMMS open WO’s.

·  Report health and safety breaches through the hazard reporting process on site.

·  Complete toolbox talks monthly.

·  Ensure all work areas are always clean and tidy.

·  Ensure you wear the CBRE uniform including appropriate PPE as issued at all times and that the professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors at all times while on site.



·  Good working knowledge and/or experience of building services are an advantage.

·  An understanding of electrical awareness and hazards and the risks around electrical equipment is preferred.

·  Must be able to work on ladder or scaffold at various heights and within company H&S guidelines. Manual handling will be required.

·  Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with the client, with team members and with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data centre mechanical systems.

·  Computer literate with the ability to compile and submit time sheets, account for time on task via the computer maintenance management system (CMMS)

·  Strong and committed team player with excellent communication skills. Previous experience of supervising or monitoring contractors and reporting to peers an advantage.

·  Willingness to work outside of normal hours to complete planned works on schedule.

·  The ability to learn quickly and to gain maximum benefit from extensive training and development programs aimed at ensuring that any identified knowledge or experience deficiencies are addressed in the short term.
