Data Center Design Manager

Your role

If leading and overseeing a pre-contract technical solution design function and team sounds like a challenge you would rise to, read on. Reporting directly to the Head of Client Services, you will be responsible for setting the scope and policies for the design department and leading and overseeing the design process. As well prioritizing and allocating projects and having accountability for technical design approvals, we will rely on you to provide pre-contract technical expertise to sales teams, customers, and our internal Operations teams too. And, when it comes to managing your assigned reports or getting involved in the recruitment and selection of design staff, again, we will count on you. Put simply, if engineering is your thing and you’re looking to broaden your exposure to data centre operations/systems, this role promises to be both challenging and fun.

What you’ll need

- An Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services skillset (trade qualification with third level degree an advantage) and, ideally, knowledge of Structured Cabling Infrastructure

- Experience in designing complex solutions for customers, preferably in design or operation of commercial data centre, cleanrooms, controlled environments or similar

- Excellent Microsoft Office and AutoCAD user skills, with the ability to use systems like CRMs, PowerBI and Salesforce a distinct advantage

- Excellent leadership and project management skills, a proactive ‘can-do’ approach and a high degree of flexibility

- The ability to work independently plus a proven track record of delivering on time in an accurate and complete manner
