ABOUT THE ROLE
As BMS Project Engineer you will be responsible for the BMS deliverables on a large-scale data centre project. The project engineer will be responsible for the entire process from design to execution of the works on site. The project manager plans, organises, leads, coordinates, and controls all activities concerned with the construction of the BMS scope of the project in conjunction with the project manager. The Project Engineer participates in the conceptual development of an engineering construction project and leads its organization, scheduling and implementation. He/she is the key point of contact with the client and builds and creates strong, assertive and positive relationships. They ensure a quality focus and quality outcomes so that the Kirby Group vision, mission & values are fulfilled.
BMS Project Engineer Responsibilities
In conjunction with your project team, you will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project as follows:
The Project Design Engineer will typically own the production and coordination of the Tier 2 engineering / design submittal. This typically includes:
Tier 2 Technical Submittals
Coordinating and developing requirements and interfaces with other disciplines
I/O data point List
Equipment Schedule & Schematics
Device / Wiring Layout Drawings including Panel Design Interlocks
Functional Specifications
Demonstration / Acceptance
Operation & Maintenance Documentation
They will also convert the above functional specification document into an operational system then witness off site testing to confirm operational effectiveness.
They will use Change Control logs to create a full audit trail of all design changes in order to support the Project Manager in his Change Order Management activities.
Project Running Phase:
Manage your site Sub-contractor team in the effective day-to-day running of engineering deliverables and site activities
Ensure compliance with programme, materials deliveries, engineering and quality
Attend whiteboard meetings as necessary
Attend weekly technical and progress meetings with sub-contractors
Attend W1, W2 & W3 site walk downs
Project Completion:
Ensure testing and commissioning is carried out in accordance with the Quality Plan
Complete and certify all ‘life systems’ in good time for handover date
Ensure all systems are demonstrated to Client and District Surveyor
Handover O&M manual and record drawings
Demobilize site team and establishment in conjunction with the OM
Produce a project close-out report and submit to the OM
Archive project
Other Duties:
Maintain a site / day book
Attend and participate in weekly project meetings
Develop your skills in line with agreed training plan
Put forward idea’s for continuous improvement of company
Maintain excellent working relationships with the from project start up to project completion
You will proactively and vigilantly keep information secure and fully comply with the Kirby Information Security Management System (ISMS).
