HOST IN IRELAND
A SUB INITIATIVE OF
Difference Day
JK Community Farm, Virginia, US
Join us for a day of making a difference at the JK Community Farm in Purcellville, Virginia, US on November 5th, 2024 at 10am.-12pm ET.
Volunteer to help construct and fill the raised beds. You will share this rewarding experience with 100+ volunteers from the digital infrastructure industry.
After work we’ll head off to a local brewery for some lunch and networking.
The Problem
Bee pollination contributes to 70% of the world's crops. The success of our species is dependent on theirs.
What's more, bees and butterflies are an indicator of the general health of the 11,400 species of insects who not only impact pollination but also pest control and decomposition that returns vital nutrients to the soil.
We can be part of the Solution

One day where we made a difference
November 5th, 2024 at 10am-12pm ET

DCs for Bees - a sub-initiative of Host in Ireland, along with 7x24 DC Chapter, AFCOM, Infrastructure Masons, Nomad Futurist Foundation, and Loudoun County Economic Development, are teaming up to fundraise for 50 new raised beds. These beds will provide food for the bee population and help us donate additional 50,000 meals annually to families in need

1 Day | 50 raised beds | 50k annual meals | 100+ people

There are two ways of getting involved:
Donate to fund the difference day. Every dollar goes to helping us meet our goals. And your gifts are tax-deductible.
Volunteer to help construct and fill the raised beds. You will share this rewarding experience with 100+ volunteers from the digital infrastructure industry.
After work we’ll head off to a local brewery for some lunch and networking.
Long term
IMPACT

Working closely with ecologists from the
National Biodiversity Data Centre,
we have created an industry-specific, purpose-built programme for our industry to make lasting sustainable changes.
From the smallest partner operating nationally, to a global multi-billion-dollar operator with multiple sites, there will be steps to promote biodiversity to suit every type of partner.
